Parliament Hill — Heritage masonry reinforcement

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada · 1992

Parliament Hill heritage stone buildings in Ottawa
Problem

The Parliament Buildings required structural strengthening of heritage masonry while maintaining the original appearance and architectural integrity of the precinct.

CINTEC solution

Project-specific concealed anchors were installed to tie the masonry back into stable support without visually disrupting the heritage fabric.

Technical notes

The work was phased over time across the Parliament precinct and the project demonstrates how engineered, low-impact reinforcement can support heritage restoration. The full design details are available in the project PDF.

Result

The heritage character was preserved while the structures were reinforced for continuing service and long-term stability.

CINTEC provides technical consulting, product guidance and project support within its authorized scope. Final design responsibility and structural analysis remain with the project's Engineer of Record.
