Statue of Liberty — Monument rehabilitation

New York, USA · 2021

The Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island
Problem

The historic pedestal and surrounding masonry required targeted reinforcement to address movement, deterioration and the need for long-term structural reliability.

CINTEC solution

A custom grout pillow and anchor strategy was used to reinforce the historic structure while minimizing disruption and preserving the heritage profile.

Technical notes

This project demonstrates how engineered reinforcement can work in a highly visible, legally protected monument without overbearing new structure. The project PDF summarizes the work and conditions clearly.

Result

The monument was repaired and stabilized as part of a major conservation and rehabilitation campaign.

CINTEC provides technical consulting, product guidance and project support within its authorized scope. Final design responsibility and structural analysis remain with the project's Engineer of Record.
