St. Francis de Sales Church — dome support system

The dome and surrounding masonry required support that would not compromise the historic building fabric or the long-term conservation strategy.

A carefully designed anchor and support strategy was installed to stabilize the dome wall and create a durable service pathway for the new drainage system.

This church project demonstrates the use of reinforcement systems on complex curved masonry surfaces and heritage structural assemblies.

The dome system was supported in a way that allowed the restoration program to continue while maintaining the historic character of the church.
