Problem
The bridge had a recorded structural deficiency and required remediation that was compatible with the masonry arch and the historic bridge fabric.
CINTEC solution
A custom reinforced solution was devised to stabilize the arch and improve performance without replacing the bridge’s historic character.
Technical notes
This work shows how the CINTEC methodology can be applied to bridge and masonry arch repair where removals and confrontation with original fabric must be kept minimal.
Result
The bridge was improved and stabilized to meet a stronger structural requirement while preserving its historic identity.
